35 years ago Raiders of the Lost Ark came out and was a hit. Folks flocked to the theater to see it. For some it was like a blast from the past—bringing back memories of the serials they watched in theaters back in the 30’s and 40’s. For other—those a bit younger—it was just great, exciting fun.

If you listened to last week’s program—a repeat from November of last year—you heard the conversation I had with Chris Strompolos about how he and Eric Zala—all of 10 and 11 years old at the time—decided to do a shot-by-shot remake of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

What they didn’t realize at the time was that it would consume the rest of their childhood and a12RAIDERS3-blog427 good portion of their adult lives as well.

It’s a remarkable story of friendship, dreams, perseverance, boulders and flying wings.

Please tune in tonight at 7pm to my radio program Graffiti to listen to my conversation with Chris and Eric on Hellenic Public Radio, WNYE, 91.5 fm. Or listen on-line at the HPR website.
