A Conversation with Anders Nilsen, author of “Rage of Poseidon”, Feb. 19, 2015
What happened to the Gods of Olympus?
Did they go into hiding?
Or did they just up and die?
According to Anders Nilsen in his brilliant book: Rage of Poseidon, they are here…among us.
Bacchus apparently runs a nightclub in a new city on the other side of the world called “Las Vegas”. Apparently he’s been involved in the invention and spread of an ever-expanding plethora of new intoxicants. According to rumor, he’s partnered with Mars, who—of all of you—never lacked for devotees.
Venus works in a place called “Hollywood”.
Eros runs something called “The Internet”.
Only Hades’s vocation remains unchanged. He still presides, undisturbed, over the dead in his dismal caves.
After finding a massive island of garbage floating on his ocean he decides it’s time to visit the dreaded surface world. Once there he disguises himself as mortal and wanders amongst us—and what he discovers may amaze you—but what he does—probably will not.
